Technicians work with electronics and optics in order to take necessary data from experiments. This may include optoelectronic systems, optic systems, fiber optic communication and analog and digital electronic systems. Bechtel is a Government contractor employer.

NORTHROP GRUMMAN

Technicians work with engineers and scientists to develop new technologies that utilize laser systems and optical systems, analysis of test data, and working with analog and digital electronic systems. Northrop is both a Government contractor and a private industry employer.

LUMENIS LTD

Technicians align laser cavities and optical systems that are used throughout the medical field. They are responsible for building the base product and testing to verify if the equipment in within specifications. They will work with all aspects of electronics and laser electro-optics. Some jobs are in field service repairing units that are already in use and may need to be recalibrated. Lumenis LTD is a private industry employer.

LAWRENCE LIVERMORE NATIONAL LABS

Johnson Controls - Technicians have various responsibilities with this company. They are assembling the worlds largest laser system NIF. Graduates are performing optics assembling in clean room environments and installing them in the systems and then performing tests on the optics. They are also analyzing data on the existing portion of the project that is operating. They work with scientists, engineers and other technicians of many different disciplines. Johnson Controls is both a Government contractor and private industry employer.

SPIRICON, INC.

Technicians work with beam analysis of existing lasers. This company is cutting edge in beam analysis technology. Graduates work with electronics, computer data collection and analysis, and many different laser systems. Beam analyzers are used to manipulate a beam into any shape required, any power that is needed, and an important tool in analyzing a lasers performance. Spiricon is private industry employer.

MICRON, INC.

Technicians perform tasks that utilize their electronics background. They work with both analog and digital circuitry. They perform tasks that go from maintenance to operation of the equipment used in the semiconductor industry. Micron is a private industry employer.
